ACT Test

The ACT test will be here sooner that any of us can probably expect. I want to do the best that I can on the test, so preparing early will hopefully reflect in my score. I am in a prep class for the ACT right now and it is not the greatest. I have learned some things but not a lot. I have learned more from 700 page ACT prep book that my mom bought me over the actual class. I want to get a good score so that I can get into the college that I want. Some of the colleges that I am looking into is Carleton College, Gustavus Adolphus, Macelester College, Concordia, and a couple others. I think that the better I score on the test, the better college I can get into and I think that I can acheive this by having myself prepared.

Reputation

Reputation is the estimation in which a person or thing is held. When I think of reputation, I think of it mostly being a positive subject but can be negative. Reputation can be very positive for example in businesses. Businesses want to have their name known to the consumers that they are know for their quality, friendliness, reliability, etc. Businiesses take lots of time in wanting to build up their reputation because if they don't have a good reputation, their business would fail. This is the same for people, too. When I think of reputation used in a negative way, various classmates pop into my mind. Some kids think that since they are popular, or have a high reputation; they think that they are better than everyone else. This is where repuation is abused. Reputation is good, if used in the correct manner.

This Weekend: Show Choir

This weekend we had a show choir competition in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Now, show choir is not my favorite thing in the world but it was kind of a fun trip. There were a ton of amazing groups there. Groups all the way from Ohio to California were there. It is ridiculous that some of these groups have kids paying up to $2000 to be in a show choir. Even more shocking, some school's budgets are one million dollars! Wow. There were really awesome groups to watch. They must practice for hours. They make our group look like complete crap. We entertained ourselves from Uno to watching Show Choirs to stuffing our faces. Overall, it was a fun time watching all of the wonderful groups.

Springtime

I have been so sick of winter. It has just been dragging on and on. It is cool when it cancels school but not when we have these storms and we are still in school. I just want to be able to go outside and not have to bundle up in a thousand pounds. This past week has really been quite reassuring that springtime is for sure right around the corner. Ohh . . . I just remembered today is the first day of spring, I think. The 50 degree weather has been a treat for us but I hate it when all the snow melts and everything is so dirty, soggy, and disgusting. Springtime is also when all plant life rejuvenates itself again. I can't wait to smell the fresh, crisp smell of the flowers and hear the running of the waterfall again. I think everbody is ready for springtime.

NO Swimming

Swimming is now over and I don't know what to do with all the time that I have. I have like an extra three hours of free time now. Well, I have occupyed some of that time now with cleaning my room, which makes my mom happy. When mom is happy, everybody is happy. Also, I can spend a bit longer on my assignments. Otherwise, it has been really nice. I need to stay in shape though for swimming, so I will probably start running. Also, Andrew and I are planning on swimming club again up in Faribuilt with Mark. I am really excited for that because we have not swam with him in a very long time. It is nice now having a break from swimming because it got to be super long.

Respect

When I think of respect, I think of showing consideration to someone or something. Respect is such a huge part of our day to day lives and ALWAYS is abused. As a student body, we need to work on this topic to make us, the student body, have a better image. The world has categorized teenage kids working into their adult ages as dierespectful brats, excuse my use of words. It is true and I am embarrassed for people that are direspectful. For example, last Friday when there was a lock down during the passing time, I was in the architecture room and it was packed full. Some kids thought that it would be cool if they could go on the computer and listen to music on Youtube. We had a substitute teacher that day and they totally disrespected her when she asked them to please shut the monitor off during the lockdown. It is simple, just SHUT THE MONITOR OFF and don't lip off. We can change the student body image if we show a little respect.
